LEGAL ASSISTANT

SLS seeks highly qualified assistants for patent attorneys. Legal Assistants prepare complex documents related to U.S. and international patent protection and work with large databases to produce and use reports detailing the status of intellectual property matters. Successful candidates are high performers who are attentive to details, have strong proofreading abilities, multitask and prioritize work efficiently, are proficient with MS Word, able to produce accurate work under time pressures, and have experience working in a professional office environment. Candidates must be willing to work early, late, or weekend hours as required. While beneficial, a science or legal background is not required. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications, skills, and experience.

 

IP DOCKETING CLERK

Must have excellent computer proficiency including skill with Word, Excel, E-mail and data entry (copying, attaching and scanning documents into the docketing database). The general objective is to provide support to Legal Assistants and Attorneys by recording and docketing correspondence for the firm. Docketing personnel must be able to learn and understand the docketing system, be dependable, detailed-oriented, accurate and able to work quickly and efficiently. Knowledge of Intellectual Property Law or Docketing systems desired but not required. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications, skills, and experience.

 

OFFICE ASSISTANT

Must have excellent computer proficiency including skill with word processing programs. Office Assistants provide support to the Legal Assistants to enhance attorney effectiveness by providing information-management support; producing information; assisting in maintaining attorney's docket; transcribe, format, input, edit, retrieve, copy and transmit text, data, and graphics; assist with case preparation; follow-up on delegated assignments. Successful Office Assistants work accurately and efficiently and demonstrate good proofreading skills. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications, skills, and experience.

 

The best electronic file format for resume submissions is .pdf. However, we also accept Word (.doc), Rich Text (.rtf), and WordPerfect (various extensions) formats.
